Wholesaling Smarts: From Small Successes to Massive Results TGE Episode 2 (Part 6)

Wholesaling Smarts

This is a continuation of “The Great Escape” interview with Eric Thiele. Eric is working with Sean Terry and Flip2Freedom.com to learn how to start up a successful wholesaling business.  In this section, Sean and Eric discuss persistence in the workplace.

Sean: I’m glad you did that because a lot of people would have stopped at three. And a lot of people would have maybe talked to 10 people or 15 people and then would have stopped because even when it comes to finding a title company, or anybody when you’re trying to build your team of looking for people to find, there is a process to go through.

And I also want to mention one thing right here, is that, we put Eric in the spotlight here and it seems like when you try to break away from the norm in your life to do something above average, to go the extra mile, to do something extraordinary, for some reason it seems like all the forces of nature almost come in at once to try to keep you locked in your situation. So, there’s extra energy, there’s calling instead of 39 people. He could have given up on 39, but chose to go to the 40th and then after 40, he found someone and persisted through that, and I commend him for that.

And that is a learning experience that we could learn from for people that are getting started. Don’t just pick up the phone and go, “Well, I called 12 people and I couldn’t find anyone. They said they just wanted to talk to regular home owners instead of investors. This just doesn’t work.” No, you have to keep on digging and digging and he said he found that little vein of gold of someone that is interested in doing it. So, that’s awesome. And that guy, you could probably learn a ton from him about the market place and help you to be able to do this. Now that you’ve actually made a relationship with him, we can have him find cash transactions, unless you have your other realtors cut into working with you on your fix and flip stuff.

Eric: Well, I’ve decided to never put all your eggs in one basket, as I think we’ve all learned that in our lives.

Sean: Yup.

Eric: So, yeah, I am following multiple, mining multiple veins of information. And I have been getting information about recent cash transactions, but none of the realtors I’ve been working with so far have been able to figure out how to send me a spread sheet.

Sean: Okay.

Eric: I got one spreadsheet with all the columns as one big column. It’s impossible. There’s over . . .

Sean: To sort.

Eric: . . .1,000 transactions in the last 90 days and every single line is all the information all just mushed together. It’s impossible to figure out . . .

Sean: Yeah, so it has.

Eric: . . . where the address ends, and the dollar amount selling price starts and the phone numbers. It’s like I gotta figure out how to help them figure out how to give me a CSV file.

Sean: Okay. Well, either or.

Eric: I’ll probably do that over the next couple of days, so it’s no big deal.
